I have included this site because far too much energy goes into a deficit model for understanding children: I use these cards as a counter weight for my own thinking and to help parents use the concept of virtues as a way of seeing the capacity in their child and in themselves.

I actually read and read and read Dr. Miller's previous book, From Ritual to Repertoire: A Cognitive-Developmental Systems Approach with Behavior-Disordered Children. And I cannot recommend this book to any but the most brilliant a mind because it was sooo hard to read. I am excited to see this second book and it does seem to be a simpler version of wonderful, original thinking.
